Earthboy is on a mission to inspire and nurture the endless imaginations of children.

Who on earth?

Hidden deep in the forests of Nottingham England, beyond a labyrinth of caves, is a tiny art studio where magic happens, the home of children’s illustrator Matt Brooks.

After 15+ years of working long hours for fancy design agencies and big brands, Matt quit his day job and decided to do something to be proud of. Now his artwork is a force for good, inspiring young artists and helping children’s charities with every print sold.

“I can use art to make the world a better place. A way to share joy, encourage positivity, and champion children worldwide. Play is the key to everything”

What on earth?

  • Starting life as paper off-cuts and card scraps, Matt uses a pair of wonky old scissors to create his drawings. Like a big puzzle, he arranges cut paper shapes into new characters and handmade scenes, turning waste materials into animations, toys, and rad artwork.

Look closely and you’ll notice Matt’s artwork is full of wobbles, and wonky edges, he loves to champion imperfection and difference, because that’s what makes the world a wonderful place.

Diver deeper and you’ll see references and inspiration from great design masters like Sister Corita Kent, Paul Rand, and Nathalie Parain.

  • In the Earthboy universe, learning, play, and the natural world are central themes to the work, a perfect foundation for supporting young creative minds.

As a proud Dad, Matt made his first collection of artworks to share with his young daughter, creating stories celebrating the beauty of life on Earth. Now every artwork is a chance for families to tell those stories, share joy, and explore the world together with wonder.

  • Passionate about giving back, Matt also uses his art to donate 10% of all revenue to children’s charities worldwide. Consider it a small protest in pixels and paper, making the world a better place, one print at a time.
